In 1962 Mr. Joannides returned to the United States and took on his first non-Greek operational assignment as Deputy Chief of the Psychological Warfare Branch of Task Force W in Miami. Later in l963 he was moved up to be Chief of the Branch.
Nothing is mentioned about what he was really doing in 1963. Nothing about the DRE. Nothing about Oswald.

Someone noticed that while applying for a Virginia drivers license under the alias of Howard Mark Gebler that Joannides already had a valid Virgina license under his real name, No. 5G8861. So, that could have bee embarrassing.

So, American Express via Riggs National Bank is informed that yes Joannides is an employee of something somewhere and he’s paid $47,500 in 1962 dollars which is worth $505,615.48 today.

So, Joannides gets another driver’s license / permit this time for D.C in Jan 1963.
